Venetoclax is a BCL-2 inhibitor used in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL), which works through increasing the apoptosis of CLL cells. In this interview, Constantine Tam, MD, FRACP, FRCPA, of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia, discusses studies of venetoclax combination therapies, such as the MURANO trial (NCT02005471), which is showing promising results for the treatment of relapsed CLL with venetoclax and rituximab, as well as effect of the combination of venetoclax and ibrutinib on MRD in CLL patients.
