With the remarkable success of the US Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CNT), founded by Mary Horowitz, in running successful prospective transplantation clinical trials, it is only expected that the UK would want to emulate this success. Heres, Charles Craddock, CBE, FRCP (UK), FRCPath, DPhil, of the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, UK, passionately talks about how the UK have set up such a system: IMPACT. This plaform will, over the next 4 years, drive 12 randomized clinical trials in the field of transplantation over a wide range of metropolitan areas. Prof. Craddock states how this is an exciting advancement and questions whether taking IMPACT international is a feasible next step. This video was recorded at the 2018 European School of Haematology (ESH) Clinical Updates on Acute Leukaemias, held in Budapest, Hungary.
