Outline

Immune checkpoint inhibitors are a type of immunotherapy that is increasingly being employed in the treatment of a wide range of malignancies. Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) offer a significant issue in cancer treatment. Pneumonitis, the most common lung irAE, can cause severe interruptions in cancer treatment and can be fatal. The purpose of this chapter is to inform readers on the occurrence and clinical features of pneumonitis, as well as to provide guidance in the evaluation and treatment of pneumonitis patients.
