Due to advancements in genetic testing, women who have breast and/or ovarian cancer, or who are at high-risk of developing these cancers, are easier to identify. Genetic testing can also lead to the identification of any relatives who have mutations in the genes responsible for the development of breast and/or ovarian cancer. In this interview, Nazneen Rahman, CBE, FMedSci, of the Institute of Cancer Research, London, UK, discusses plans to make genetic testing for breast and ovarian cancer more accessible in clinics.
