The evasion of apoptosis is a hallmark of cancer, which needs to be halted in order to treat malignancies. In this video, Andrew Wei, MBBS, PhD, FRACP, FRCPA, from Alfred Hospital and Monash University, Melbourne, Australia touches upon the mechanism of apoptosis and the use of venetoclax, a drug that can benefit patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Dr Wei also discusses his research regarding pro-survival proteins in acute myeloid leukemia.
