Currently there is a good variety of treatments available for patients with relapsed multiple myeloma (MM). Here, Rakesh Popat, BSc, MBBS, MRCP, FRCPath, PhD, of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, explores how best to make use of these different treatments. He discusses combining ixazomib with lenalidomide and dexamethasone to treat MM with few side effects, as well as the use of daratumumab monotherapy. Finally, Dr Popat discusses new immunotherapy treatment options, including the prospect of using anti-BCMA CAR T-cells.
