Combating AML

Andrew Wei, MBBS, PhD, FRACP, FRCPA, from Alfred Hospital and Monash University, Melbourne, Australia discusses how a novel molecule, S64315, has the potential to combat acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). S64315 has started Phase I trials (NCT02979366) to assess how effective it is against the MCL-1 protein. He also discusses the synergy of using venetoclax and other drugs targeting BCL-2 in combination with drugs targeting MCL-1 to treat AML, and how this could reduce the toxicity of the treatment.
