Pal, MD, of City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duarte, CA, discusses the results of the randomised controlled phase 2 Borealis-1 trial, which evaluated the efficacy and safety of gemcitabine and cisplatin with and without apatorsen, a novel antisense oligonucleotide that inhibits heat shock protein 27 (Hsp27) production, in patients with metastatic bladder cancer.
