Shaji K. Kumar, MD of Mayo Clinic discusses how to gain a better understanding in treating multiple myeloma. He states that most patients who are treated end up relapsing, so oncologists need to figure out why they continue to relapse and how does the disease evolve over time. Ultimately, oncologists need to concentrate more on the biology of the disease to better treat patients.
