It has been found that the Clinical Nurse Specialist has a central role working alongside research nurses and doctors to help facilitate access to conversations for young cancer patients about clinical trial participation. Despite this, there are still some areas that healthcare professionals must focus on to ensure that young cancer patients are more aware about trial participation.
